Gold prices in the domestic market have dropped significantly once again

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold. According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has been decreased by BDT 6,590 per bhori, setting the new price at BDT 234,855.

In a press release issued on Friday (March 27), BAJUS announced that the new price came into effect from 10:00 AM on the same day.

The statement mentioned that the price adjustment was made considering the overall market situation, particularly due to a decrease in the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market.

According to the revised rates, the price per bhori (11.664 grams) is as follows:

  • 22-carat gold: BDT 234,855
  • 21-carat gold: BDT 224,182
  • 18-carat gold: BDT 192,164
  • Traditional method gold: BDT 156,473

Earlier, on March 25, BAJUS had last adjusted the gold prices. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by BDT 5,482 per bhori, bringing it down to BDT 241,445. The prices were:

  • 21-carat gold: BDT 230,481
  • 18-carat gold: BDT 197,530
  • Traditional gold: BDT 160,905
    The revised prices had also taken effect from 10:00 AM that day.

So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 47 times in the country—26 times increased and 21 times decreased. In 2025, prices were adjusted a total of 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.

Despite the drop in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, per bhori silver prices are:

  • 22-carat silver: BDT 5,365
  • 21-carat silver: BDT 5,132
  • 18-carat silver: BDT 4,432
  • Traditional silver: BDT 3,324

So far this year, silver prices have been adjusted 29 times—16 increases and 13 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times, with 10 increases and only 3 decreases.
