The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold. According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has been decreased by BDT 6,590 per bhori, setting the new price at BDT 234,855.
In a press release issued on Friday (March 27), BAJUS announced that the new price came into effect from 10:00 AM on the same day.
The statement mentioned that the price adjustment was made considering the overall market situation, particularly due to a decrease in the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market.
According to the revised rates, the price per bhori (11.664 grams) is as follows:
Earlier, on March 25, BAJUS had last adjusted the gold prices. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by BDT 5,482 per bhori, bringing it down to BDT 241,445. The prices were:
So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 47 times in the country—26 times increased and 21 times decreased. In 2025, prices were adjusted a total of 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Despite the drop in gold prices, silver prices remain unchanged. Currently, per bhori silver prices are:
