In the last 24 hours, 12 more people have died from measles and measles-related symptoms across the country. During the same period, 1,303 new cases of measles and its symptoms were identified. With the ongoing outbreak, the total death toll over the past two months has risen to 451.

These details were revealed in a press release issued by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday (May 15).

According to the statement, in the last 24 hours, the number of suspected measles patients across the country was 1,192. From March 15 to May 15, the total number of suspected cases reached 55,611. During the same period, 111 confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 7,416.

The DGHS further stated that from March 15 to May 15, a total of 40,176 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. Among them, 36,055 patients recovered and were discharged.

The statement also mentioned that between March 15 and May 15, a total of 377 people died from suspected measles, while 74 people died from confirmed measles infections.
